Greenbelt BGC Coaches Corner

All Coaches, Assistant Coaches and Team Moms must have a Background Check.
All Coaches and Assistant Coaches must take/pass the online exam at for all sports with the exception of football. To enroll online, click on the "Coaches Homepage", go to "Course Catalog" and select the sport for which you are going to be coaching, i.e. "Coaching Youth Soccer-Online Course", "Coaching Youth Basketball 4th Edition - PDF", etc. Follow the instructions on the screen and once you have completed the course, your certificate will be sent to the e-mail address you provided when setting up your account.
Football coaches and assistant coaches must obtain certification through USA Football To obtain certification through USA Football you must create an account on the website and take two courses.  The first course is a Level 1 Tackle Course.  Upon the successful completion of thsi course, you must take the Level 2 course that is determine by the age group that you wish to coach.
All Background Checks will be done online through this self-registration program and results will be a simple "Red Light/Green Light" clearance report issued in accordance with the criteria chosen by PGCBGC.

Stpe 3: Provide Legal Authorization and Certification
An email address is required.  You must enter your full legal name as written on your birth certificate or driver's
license. Using a nickname or failing to type in a correct social security number may delay or invalidate your background check.
Once you have submitted your information, you will receive a confirmation page which you should print out.  Results usually take 10 business days to complete.  You may check on the status of your background check by clicking on the 'Applicant Login to Check your Status' link.

Once completed, you can apply for your sanctioned PGCBGC ID Badge that must be worn during every game. Each coach should take a wallet size photo directly to the County office on Walker Drive in Greenbelt to pick up their badge.  This must be taken care of before your season begins.  You will NOT be allowed to coach WITHOUT your PGCBGC ID Badge.
