Today's youth athletes are tomorrow's champions!

Greenbelt Boys and Girls Club is a Track & Field program aimed at educating youth and parents about the positive results that come from a youth involved in a sport that encompasses all other athletic sports. Track and field is the fundamental key to all sports such as football, basketball, baseball, soccer, etc. GBGC primary focus is to develop Youth that lead a physically active, drug-free lifestyle. Our youth will have respect for others while revealing their ethical integrity. Our program will combine technical development and fundamental techniques embodied with safety and a major emphasis placed on fun! We will utilize special equipment, exercises and drills that will prepare athletes for a great future in cross-country, track and field events, and distance running, while inspiring their love for active running. The fundamentals of body positioning, stride, proper stretching, and cool-down techniques will all be covered in this unique program.

Youth meets and races are often more than competition--they're also fun!  And, regardless of whether young athletes achieve a personal best, win a medal, or earn a shot at international competition, they'll have the opportunity to make new friends and a lifetime of memories!  We would like to call this our Win-Win with respect and Integrity program. Participants will put it all together for one fun-filled day at the end of the week track meets.

Kudos
In 2017, Glenarden Track and Field selected 11 of our athletes to compete alongside their club.  They all qualified in the USA Track and Field East Coast District in Greensboro, NC.  Five of the eleven moved on to the USATF Junior Olympic in Kansas City where the finals for All USA were held.  Aaron B.,  our 10 and under, finished in the top Four in Long Jump.
